Commencement Information

Post-Commencement:  When do I receive my picture proofs from GradImages?

Sunday, June 18, 2017

PPPM Department will be hosting a pre-commencement reception/recognition of our students on Sunday, June 18, from 1:00-3:30 on the Pioneer Mother Statue lawn west of Hendricks Hall.

This is not a commencement ceremony. Families and friends are invited to attend. No rsvp required. Students may choose to wear their graduation robes as they wish. Bring cameras as we will not have a professional photographer at this event. (There will be one for the School's ceremony the next day.)

PPPM students' Exit Project, Thesis and Capstone project posters will be on display for the general public on this day, in the Hendricks Hearth, 12:30-3:30. Students may then take their posters home afterward.

ADA PARKING INFO:  with the handicap hang tag showing on the rearview mirror, options for free ADA parking close to the building include:

  • Hendricks Hall driveway handicap space;
  • any space in Johnson Hall parking lot that does not have a "reserved parking at all times" number on the sign;
  • on University Street at any meter that does not have a hood on it.

The School of Architecture and Allied Arts Commencement ceremony will be Monday, June 19, 2017, at 4:00pm. Commencement will be located at the Knight Library South Lawn.

The deadline to apply for commencement as a graduate student is April 14, 2017. This can be done on the Graduate School website.

The deadline to apply for commencement as an undergraduate student is April 30, 2017. This can be done through DuckWeb.

If a student won’t be graduating in Spring 2017, but will complete their degree either in Summer 2017 or Fall 2017, the student is still eligible to participate in Commencement. To guarantee that the student will be included in the A&AA Program, they will need to fill out a Walk-Only form (attached to this email) and return that form to the Dean’s Office by end of day, May 19, 2017.

If the walk only form is submitted after May 19, 2017, the student may walk in commencement but WILL NOT be included in the program and must submit their walk only forms by end of day, June 12, 2017.

The Duck Store will be hosting Grad Fair this year from April 10 – 13th. This is a great place to take advantage of ordering all of your graduation items in one place. As a bonus there are lots of discounts to be found through this event. Check back to the Duck Store website for further details.

While not required, academic regalia (cap and gown) is suggested for commencement. Along with regalia, invitations can also be ordered from the UO Duck Store beginning on April 10th.

All of this information is located on the A&AA Commencement page.
