Summary of Interests

Teaching students about real-life planning issues and planning research; assisting communities and organizations in Oregon conduct research that protects the environment and improves the economy; providing community and regional assistance in Oregon through the Community Planning Workshop (CPW).

Research Interests

Ways to protect and enhance the Oregon environment and maintain a working economy, recreation as a regional development activity (i.e., the economic impacts of windsurfing, skiing, salmon sport fishing), sustainable development and regional self-sufficiency; the application of cost-effective technology less harmful to the environment.
