The following list of selected fellowships are generally post-graduate opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. Students are also encouraged to conduct independent searches and contact the Internship Director for additional search strategies.

There are several post-graduate programs that are designed to attract outstanding individuals to federal service. Some are open to graduate students only while others are also open to undergraduates. Positions may be announced via USAJOBS or they may be found on department or agency sites. Some of these programs include the Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF), Federal Career Intern Program (FCIP), Professional Development Program (PDP), Environmental Careers Program (ECP) and Emerging Leaders Program (ELP). Successful completion may lead to permanent employment without further selection process.

Department of State Student Programs
A gateway to fellowship programs. The Thomas R. Pickering Graduate Foreign Affairs Fellowship and the Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Program are open to seniors with a minimum 3.2 GPA who plan to enroll in graduate school and are interested in pursuing a career in the Foreign Service. The Pickering Undergraduate Foregin Affairs Fellowship is open to sophomores.

Two-year Professional Development Program (PDP) with Federal Highway Administration open to undergraduate and graduate students. Transportation Career Residency Program open to recent graduates with master's degree or meet qualifications for GS-9.

Several opportunities for internships and fellowships. Hamilton Fellowship is a two-year paid fellowship in the areas of financial management, financial and economic analysis, and human resources. Must be complete graduate degree by June.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
The EPA Environmental Careers Program (ECP) is a two-year position that includes rotations, career development, and a graduate conference. Participating offices announce positions on USAJOBS. Search on keyword "ECP" for open positions. Successful completion leads to permanent position at EPA headquarters or a regional office.

Government Accountability Office (GAO)
A two-year Professional Development Program (PDP) is periodically offered. May be assigned to a specific project or rotate among teams. Potential for permanent employment following successful completion of PDP.

National Istitutes of Health (NIH) Administrative Fellows Program
Two-year fellowships that include a range of administrative positions: administrative officer, budget analyst, contract specialist, ethics specialist, grants management specialist, health communications specialist, human resource specialist, and management analyst.

National Nuclear Security Administration Nonproliferation Graduate Program
One-year fellowship administered by the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Includes specialized training and practical experience on projects that contribute to a safer world.
