Student-athlete-artists’ work helps UCC shooting victim recover

Lisa Abia-Smith, an instructor in the Arts Administration Program, is working with student-athlete-artists who are making and sharing their art to help one of the Umqua Community College shooting victims heal. Five of the student-athlete-artists, who are working with Abia-Smith through the Art of the Athlete program, have been creating works of art for Julie Woodworth, a survivor of the UCC shootings who is recovering in an area hospital from major brain and body trauma as a result of being shot five times. Read more at goducks.com
